This conserns the shoping in walmart for a party. In fact, this monday is on of the most important holidays for muslims around the world. This holiday called Aid el Kebir in Arabic is the occasion for the forgivrness. Any muslim married is obliged to sacrifice a sheep and share the food with neighbours.

The fird most important coversation was in the gym. After the macth, the soccer, we converse about our culture because there were differents mationalities.

This is about the meeting also in BCM. It was a man and is wife wo went in East Africa for the search in biology. We talked about a lot of things. They also plan to invite me in their house in mississipi later.

I met an old man in BCM. I came to me and asked me about my country. In fact I went in africa for 28 years for mission in differents countries. We tolked about the politic in Africa. He knows very much Africa. At last he invited me to speak about politics later

The Invitation

Always in the BCM, the person who conversed with me invited me to church on sunday for an anniversary. He explained the way that Americans like to celebrate their anniversary.

As every friday after class, I went to BBC ( I don't the meaning) where we get free food, and speak with other American students. Someone came to me to tell me his religious belief, and ask me about mine.

Analysis

Always in the political subject this weekend, the coversations turn around this election. We talked about Obama's first press conference to know his choice for the futur government.

The Shopping

This sunday we went to shopping to the grocerie's store. The stores is also a place for conversation, so we talked about what we took for the week. I make a small talk with some people that we met to the store. And gererally American people like asking about your country if they see that you are not from here. The frequently questions are: Where are you from? What do you do?

The NBA GAME

This week we saw the beggining of the NBA game. Many people are interrested by the sports especially the NBA. It was one of the subjects this week after the politics. As the teams of my favorites players Koby Briant and Tony Parker didn't win, I said to my conversation partner the biggining is difficult after a long time of rest.

The birthday party

I went to the friend's birthday party. In fact it was his wife's birthday. There were few people. After her whiches, we begun to talk about many things. One of these subjects was the different ways of the birthday party. Somebody said that generally there is not a big difference birthday party between USA and our countries without we don't use the flag.

The continuation

Our conversation talked about JOE the PLUMBER. As this name was injected in the presidential campaign this year, my roomate and I conversed about the effect of this particular subject on the campaigns. I said to him that the subject Joe the Plumber was prepared before because if you watch the last presidential debate, Joe the plumber was in the center of all the subjects. Also Joe personally moved with John mccain for his campaign.

I conversed with my roomate. We talked about the presidential election of november fourth. According to me media, OBAMA's campaign is one of the most followed by the media in the history of United States of America . My roomate said that it is also the most betrothed. I said to him that it is also very followed in the outside of the United States by the fact of the world financial crisis. As I am very interrested by the politics. We follow this very close election and we shall have what to converse about in the next days.

I went to a theater with my roommates. My roommates are stuying Caroline's class. So, They were invited by her playing. Changyoon made on time. But, Kenny and I couldn't do that because we lost a way. When we arrived there, the playing was playing. A casher told us if you bougnt tickets, it would waste our money. We regreted that we tried to go on new way. However, the casher was allowed to go inside for free! So, We could watch the playing.

After all class, I went to patterson hall to meet Kenny. I intended to come back to my home with Kenny but I joined Jamaal's club. I didn't to talk much and I just listened theit conversation. But after 1 hour, I found topics that I could make conversation. So, I talked with Jamaal through my topics. Then, Scott went nearby our seat with another Korean student. After small conversation, Simon, Scott, the student, and I went to Vietnam restaurant to eat dinner.

At lunch break, We went to Burger King to eat lunch. Scott asked some questions about Korean and Far-East Asian's customs. So, I answered what I knew. But, sometimes I can't explain exactly, even though I am Asian. Because of that reason, I told him that I couldn't solve your whole questions and next I talked about my knowledge was based on my experience.

To my surprise, their names were the same.
One person's name was Megan Jane, and the other name was Megan Patric.
Also, " we are twins" , she joked to me.

And, I explained about Korean president's problems and blamed him. Then, I mentioned why American make a right decision again to Scott.

After school, I went to Patterson Hall to meet friends. I met two Megan. I showed them my paragraph that I wrote about the memorial movie I have ever watched. They read my writing, and we talked about the movie what I wrote about. Then, we went to BCM with my friends. In there, we ate lunch and talked.

I went to Tjmax and Kroger. At Tjmax, I walked to casher to buy some goods. At there I wore my jaket. As soon as I wore my jaket, casher saw me suspicously. I recognized that she missunderstood. So, I told her this was my jacket. She laughed likes feel embarassed.
At Kroger to buy cigarettes, I waited in line. When I standed in front of casher, I asked her about cigaretts. She didn't understand what I meant. So, I talked again. The reason why she didn't understand is that my pronunciation was incorrect. I spoke "A" sound to "O" sound.

On Saturday, I went to Rumba Room, it's a Salsa Club on Donwtown. It's was a nice place, There were a lot of american people interenting in learn how to dance salsa, also the place
give free lesson from 10 pm to 11 pm I think every friday and saturday, so I talked with a
lot of people about salsa.

On Tuesday, I called Celular south and I talked to a representative, because my daughter
loose a phone, so the person transfer me to the insurance deparment and I did a claim.

On Wenesday, I went to Game stop on Germantown, because my son loose a control for an exbox 360, so I asked to the salesman.

On Thursday, I went to a friend house, It was a gay riding a 1967 chevolet impala, like new
so I talked a about the car he told me that it was his father car so he keeped.

On Monday, I went to fed-ex kinkos to send a mail to New Orleans, I talked with a person in charge to get also the mail coming back, front the people that I sent to. The person told that was k and I just prepaid all.

tuesday, I was interview by ones of teacher's Claras friend, because he is about to gradute
as a teacher and he needed to talked with some international international students for his
thesis.

Scott and Kenny and I went to gym. We had swum in indoor pool. After swimming, we entered hottup. Then, we talked about culture difference.

Weekend

Last weekend, I went to Japanese festival. It was held at beautiful garden.
I and another Japanese friend stood on stage for model.

We wore yukata, traditional Japanese dress like kimono.

There were a lot of people who interes in Japanese culture.

I could talk with many Americans. It was really fun.

This weekend, Friday night, I and all Japanese students in IEI

went to play boring with American friends.

They study Japanese at university.

It was interesting because Japanese students spoke in English,

but American students spoke in Japanese.

Saturday night, I was invited for dinner by American girl.

We met at VISA welcome party on August.

She is really cute and kind. She always speak slowly and clearly.

We enjoyed nice dinner and play games.

Game Night

Oct.3rd.
My husband and I went to Clear's(?) house for attend to "The Game Night" at 6: 40 P.M.
First, We stepped by "Kroger" to buy some grapes and drove to her house. The beautiful scenery out side the window; the sunset, came into my eyes and we were humming follow the music. Everything looked good so far but, about 20 minutes later, It became darker and darker and the road sign were not able to see. After all, we lost our way and also ran out of gas. We stepped by gas statoin for refill with gas. A waker asked to me very kindly, " Are you going to.....?" I answered. "No, I'm going to go my teacher's house but I lost my way. "Where do you want to go?" I showed the map and he told me that if I went to stright 4 miles, I could find the road. Anyway, It took more than 1 hour to found Clear's house. In there, We played the "whatoo" and the "Maxican train. " We ate some cookies and talked, too. Although, It was difficult to found the house, I met new friends and spent pleasure time in there.

Rebeca came to my home. during several meeting, we became close each other.
We talk about weather, the stars and tattoo.
She said, she has a tatoo, a moon and a scorpion, on her shoulder.
I told her some interesting story.

she got weight and has got full hips. Can you guess what happen?""

I met my daugther's parents in the Hop church.
He thanked for chicken that I sent on sunday, and we talked about the picnic.

We went to Outback steak house for dinner.
Actually, It was first time in here so I felt uncomfortable.
The water asked me what do you want to order. we ordered each other.
He asked me "What kind of ****** do you want?"
I don't have idea so, I'm very embrassed.
In addition to, he has strong accent so, It's more difficult to understand what he said to me.
He showed me a picture and I chose two things. Oh, terrible day.

After school, I was sitting on the bench.
I met Joe, a graduated student in U of M.
He asked " How are you?"
I said "good" and asked back to him "How are you?"
He said "good" asked " how is I.E.I school going?
I said "so so"
He said "the Germans have uncouth accent. When they say so so, it is like so so(with low voice)."

He told me that to impove your English, you should not translate.

On Saturday my friend Maria and I went to a yard sale on Germantown Rd. There were many yard sales that day. A woman was selling costumes. I asked her How much was the cost for costumes? She told me they were $5. I thought that was expensive because they were old. So she said $3. I was looking for costumes for my sister for her kindergarden class in Honduras. That day I also bought baseball cards for my husband.

On Sunday my husband and I went to his office in Lakeland because he had to work on a proyect. I brought a book to read. My husband's boss came to the office and I had a little conversation with him about my class and my plans for the future.

I had conversation with the wife of my husband cousin's we talked about my sister. I told her that my sister is coming to Memphis on December 12th and that I was excited to see her. I told her that we will go to Kansas City to celebrate the new year because my sister wants to see our cousins in Kansas City.

I asked my sister in law How I can make a compost pile. She told me that it is easy. In a little space in my garden or back yard all I have to do is put a plastic and that I can throw in fruits, leafs, and vegetables, but nothing with oil or grease and it's neccesary to turn 1 time a week.

Melisa, who is My daughter's friend, came to my home.

She said that her mother worked in Wolfchase Mall and they want to go there next
saturaday for shopping. So, If I pick them up there.

On friday, I went to Cyclecafe with a friend that has a motorcycle, it was full of paople and almous every body riding their motorcycle, so I practice my English talking with all the owner
of a motorcycle, because they love to talk about their bike that how they called.

On thuesday, I went to the Cheryl's office(IEI),because, I have to send a letter to a goverment
office and the person who I talked to, told me to send in a plate envelope,it was a lot of people
and I couldn't ask for the meaning of a plate envelope,so Cheryl told me that it's to send the
envelope with out my name and my addres ( not the top part just the addres where the
envelope go)

On Wednesday, I called to Bank of America, because, they move the payment day of my credit
card so I thoght that is was confusing, I talked with a representative to check if they can do just an espesific day but the person told that it was imposible, sometimes the bank do .

On thrusday, I called to the Germantown court, because I was pull over by a Germantown
police officer. I talked with a clerk, I gave my ticket number, I she gave me the information
of the requeriment to go to the court.

On Moday, I called to Natinal Wide insurance and I talked with an insurance agent to cancel a policy, because I found a cheap one, I told the person that I don't need the policy no more, he
just told me that I have to pay for break the contrat.

Difference of Law Systems

Today my friends and I went to Wang that is a Chinese restaurant. We talked about difference of between British - America law system and Continental system. First our conversation was started talking about black belt of Taekwondo and an experience about Taekwondo in military. Then, Simon asked me if a person who has black belt hit someone, is it attempt murder or not in Korea. I have heard that is an attempt murder. After I answered him, I asked Scott "Scott Do you know there are two kind of law system in the earth?" "huh?" "British - American law system and Continental law system. Continental law system is Europe's system like France and Germany. These are different. He asked me what is different. "Hum... when a crime is happened, a judge finds cases and makes a decision in America right? But In our case, a judge finds a sentence that is in law book(Sentence is article and law book is a code of laws I didn't know these words) and he make a decision through a sentence." I had talked about the difference. "So do you think your system is better?" He asked me and I answered "No, Nobody can't judge what is better. It is just a difference." "No, Everybody can judge but, can't what is really better." "I understand what you mean." I answered. After lunch, While we were coming back to class, I said Scott "I want to suggest you read a book of the differences. Just that chapter. If you read that, you can recognize why social system is difference each countries. Law is a base of social, I think. So, It will be interested." He smiled. Awful Night

In the evening, My friend called to ask me whether if I can drive instead of him or not. I accepted his request. So, I had been waiting at parking lot. Because of he was druken, his girlfriend drove. Because of His girlfriend's car was her house, I had to drive to her house and cameback. While I was driving, I asked her that how many bottle they drank. She answered. "5 bottles" I asked surprisingly "5 bottles for each person?" "No no no We shared. We drank fairly" "Ah~ but Why did only he fall a sleep except you?" "I don't know." "I think a reason why he released his mind is you were infront of him. In my case, If friends whom I can trust were in front of me, I loosed my mind and slept sometimes when I drank." Eventually, I arrived her house with my friend. She brought some medicine that is good to overcome hangover. And She requested me to takecare of him repeatedly. While I was coming back, he was sleeping on rear seat in the car. But, As soos as the car stopped, He opened a door and threw up. I muttered in my mind. 'Shit..' After he finished throwing up, I let him go to room and asked my neighbor. "How can I clean those...(sigh)" I needed kind of water stuff like hose or baket but she just asked me that I have a broom and dustpan. I answered I don't have that kinds of stuff. Then, she borrowed that stuffs to me. Acutually, I just wanted to ignore that dirty thing and go my house but, My neighbors watched everything that my friend did. So, I couldn't. After cleaning up, I could come back my house.

On Friday, I came back to the IEI office I talked with cheril that I need the proof of enrollment that she game notarize, so she called a notary in campus a the notary was agry to notarize the
the letter, because cheril called her, so I went there and she signed for me.

On Tuesday, I went to the IEI office because cheril gave me a proof of enrollment from the university, that I need to send to my contry but notarize. I took the letter to notarize and
I couldn't because the notary told me that the person who sign the letter have to be present.

On wednesday, I went with my daugther to Game Stop because she wanted to buy a nitendo DS game and the game wasn't at the store so I talked with the manager and he called for me to different store until he found the game and hold the game for me until I pick the game up in the
other location.

On tuesday, I helped a friend to go wachted a car that he wnted to buy, so I called the owner and talked with him about the price,how many miles and general codition of the car.

After I went to the honda

I went to Honda to change oil last friday after school.
A man was standying outside, and I stopped my car beside him.
He said hello to me and asked "May I help you?"
I said "I want to change oil."
He checked a mileage and my impormation.
After he checked, he said " You did oil change three times." and asked me to go in the room.
There was another guy and asked me what i wanted to do.
I said that i needed oil change.
He said " It is $ 28.50 and you can wait over there."
When i was in the customer service center, they took my car in the repair shop.
When they finished to check, a man called me to the cashier and said "Everything is fine."
I said "Thank you"
After I paid for it, I left there.

While I was waiting for my car to be checked, I found out the difference between Korean repair shop and American one.
In Korea, we are able to see the process how a car gets fixed, however a car mechanic takes a car to somewhere to fix and check the car in United States.

on monday, I went to a friend house, I said hi to everybody. It was my friend birthday, I talked a lot with everybody and the last topic was about venezuela's president so I practiced a lot....

Scott, Kenny, Simon and I went to Tasty buffet. We had talked during eating lunch. Especially, our last topic was very fun. After eating two dishes eachother, Kenny brought many watermelons. We watched Korean TV program is named "Vitamin "that contains health. The program noticed that watermelon is good for men. So, we have started to eat watermelon. I asked kenny why he did bring so many watermelons. He just laughed embarrassedly. We talked about that and Scott talked another one. "Oyster is also good for men." I said "It's basic thing. Do you know dragon fish? It is long and looks like snake." "Eel?" "Eel? Not dragon fish?" "I think it is an eel." "Ah~ maybe, I haven't known its correct name. Anyway, it is really good. The House Bunny

Last Wednesday, I went to the movie with my friend, Shaun.
We saw "The House Bunny" it was a kind of comedy.
It was my first time that I saw the movie in English without caption.
But the story was easy to understand, so I was enjoy the movie.
After the movei, we went to go to an Italisan restaurant.
The waiter couldn't get my English, so I said "Water"again and again.
But he was really polite and kind.
It was enjoyable evening for me.

I went to my husband`s friend wedding, it was in midtown the place was so nice, there were many people interesting of Memphis , the groom works at the court of Memphis, son you know almost all the people were important, I practiced my English a lot, we were talking about Mexico,Venezuela, and how my husand and I met us. I went to the movies I saw, The Dark Nigth, it was wood but my nephew was so bord so we went to our house at half movie, I did practice my English when I was buying the tickes.

At 11:20 p.m I went out to smoke. While I was smoking, a strange car was coming to parking lot nearby me. So, I stepped out from the car. The car stopped and window opened. I was watching carefully but, a woman driver asked me that I am a resident in this apartment. I answered "Yes, I live here." She asked me something again. I figured out that she wants to know about this apartment but, I didn't listen completly. I almost listened everything but, I missed last word. Even She said again, because I requested, but I couldn't catch it. I thought the word is that I don't know. Then, I answered. "Actually, My friend is an owner. So, I don't have any idea about that. Sorry." She said. "That's OK." Then, maybe she left me to find someone else.

I was walking to Kroger when I saw a policeman who was in the street. He was putting tickects on all cars that were parked in a place where it was prohibed to park. He asked me if I had called the police. I said no, and asked why? because they´re many cars in the no parking zone. I said that it is the same way every day.

When we were coming to Birmingham I asked about that city. My husband said that the population of Birmingham is about the same as Memphis. My sister - in- law said that Birmingham seemed more noisy and active that how it looked in the pictures on the internet. They also explaned to me that Alabama was known for coal mining and steel production. I saw some coal mines during the trip.

In the morning we got a newspaper. That day many events were planned to remember the tragedy that ocurred on 11 September 7 years ago. I read that Obama and MCcain would be at ground zero in the afternoon. I told to my sister and brother in - law about the news.
We went to ground zero but all streets around were closed. We then talked about our plans for the next day.

That day we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We were there for almost 2 hours. After we left I asked my sister in law if she had seen of the majority of the works of art. She said that was difficult to see everything in the museum and that you can get lost in it because it is so big and there are 2 millions pieces of art.

In the night after dinner we played cards and talked about which place was our favorite on the trip to New York. My husband said that his was the yankee's game because he loves baseball that was his first time to see the Yankees. My sister in law said that Ellis Island because that place was the door for the inmigration of millions for people from Europe and Asia many years ago. I said that Times Square was my favorite because it represents New York a noisy, busy city with fashion, commerce, restaurants, museums, etc. New York is in action 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Scott and Kenny and I ate lunch at Tigerden. While we were eating, I started talking. "Scott, Did you hear Lehman Brothers bankrupted." "Yes, I heard that." I read a passimist netizen's writing. That is... America needs another war to rise economy." He mumbled but, I couldn't catch it. I thought that he hates the writing. We got up at 6:30 to go to garage sale. Last night, we checked a place and time. When we arrived there, already several people were there. Fortuneatly, I found a table. Actually I wanted to buy a tea table and it was suitable. I called my husband and said, " How about it? It looks good. and it's not expencive." I asked to seller. " I like it. but could you make suitable price for me?"she said to me," how much? $25? Ok?"
Actually I didn't expect to discount.
but just curious that it is possible or not. Anyway, I save $5.

Denial who is my daugter's friend, visited my house on saturaday afternoon. My daugther is going to sleep over her house. knock knock knock. "Who's there?" " I'm denial." " Ok, come in." We met denial's parents at the hop church. Her dad said, "yesterday we swam, played, and eat something. Jenny is a good swimmer, very nice and did polite. so we spent very happy time. thank you for allowing her to sleep over."I said to him just thank you.

'Who is she?'
I was trying to remember her for more than 40 minutes but I couldn't.
Today, I went to Riverdale elementry school for attend band student parents meeting.
When I arrived there, music teacher announced something."Thank you for your attending, give your child to courage, don't forget exercise, we need your help..."
I was trying to concentrate on her words but I felt boring not longer.
So I looked around right and left. At that time, I saw her who smiling to me.
I showed smiling too but, I couldn't remember who is she.
'She looks familiar and I have seen her somewhere.'
While music teacher's announceing are countinued, my mind went to the top of my head for find her.
I saw several times with a sidelong glance but I couldn't find any clue.
All of them are finished and I went to the parking area to met my husband and children.
They were waiting me for pick up.
When I opened the car door, he said, " Why you didn't say hello to her.""whom?"
" Eddie's teacher."" where is she? ..... oops."she is my son's teacher.
I went to her and said very carefully, "I'm so sorry. I didn't recognise you. I saw you in band class and I thought that you are not strange. I was trying to remember but...."
She just smiling. We said more about my son but I couldn't hear her.
I was very ashamed because we met just 2 days ago.

I went to BCM and met Steven. I asked him to introduce a conversation partner 5days ago from that time. He talked to me that he had looked for a good person. And, he asked me "Did you put your introducing card in box?" "No, I didn't" Then, He said "I have a sit in that table. After lunch I'll join you guys." Because of we went out too early, we coulnd't make a conversation with him anymore.

I went to Puttputt at afternoon. I met Scott there. Actually, Kanny, my roommate, pick him up there. We asked what have done eachtothers since we met. (I have been sick for 3days so, He asked me about my condition, first.) We made a lot of conversation but, I can't write anything.
Because, our conversation is involved complicated problems(like a custom and human's personality). I'm so sorry teacher. If I have a chance to tell you, I'll tell you.

I went to party. I met Rich. He told me that he had been in Korea this April. In addition, he could speak Korean a little. It was AWSOME!! I had never met American can speak Korean in Memphis except BCM pastor. So, we could be close easily and we started to talk. Because of he was druken, we were in party and we are young guy, our conversation was so informal.

15th Sep is Kanny's birthday. But, we thought Sunday is easy to meet. So, we decided to have a birthday party. Actually, It is not party definitely. We just had a dinner and talked. Coco and Scott came to my house. We talked while we were eating dinner. Our topic was changed manytimes.(global politics, geometry and fashion etc,.)

On wednesday, I called to a north american friend that use to live in Memphis, but the company
where he work for transfer him to seattle. I talked with his wife I said hi , and she gave the phone to my friend, he told me that he was very busy trying to put everything together but it was happy because of the move and just he miss his friends, but he know that is better for him.

On friday, I went to a gas station, there were a lot of cars, it was full, and I talked with a lot of
people, everybody were filled their car with gas because of the hurricane "IKE" everybody said
that the gas price was going to increase,and it was true and it's still rising in sone place.

On thursday, I went to bank of america to notarize a document, I talked with a representative,
I explained what I need to do, and called a notary and notarize the document for me.

On tuesday, I called the venezuelan consulate in New Orleans, because I need to send a document to my contry,the person at the embassy told me that I need to apostille the document,
that what I asked a nort american friend about that word if he know what its mean, and my friend told me that he don't know about that word but he looked in the diccionary and it's like a international certification.

On monday, Because I couldn't open a file to print a form that I need to fill out and send to my contry, I went to IEI office, I said hi to chery and I asked if she can receive a fax for me. She told me that was ok and she will do it for help me.

When I entered my apartment enterance, a manager who manages my apartment yelled.
He asked me that I heard a fastfood restaurant like a Subway. First time. I didn't listen clearly. So, I request to say again. He said again, but It is too difficult to listen and understand. So, I gave up to hear that name. So, I pretended to listen and answered "I never heard that."
He yelled again. "Just 5dollars!! YEAH!!"

I met Scott at luch break. I talked one my Korean friend's mistake. He called himself 오빠(Oppa) infront of me. In Korean, Elder man be called 오빠 by younger woman. So, I said "He treated me like a girl." He laughed. Then, He asked me about Korean grammar. "What does 가(ga) mean?" "Ah.. It's difficult to explain. Because, English doesn't have this. In English, There is no words after subject. For example, I am a boy. I play baseball. I is just I. Right? But As you know, Korean grammar process is subject, object and verb. And, after subject word is changed because of verb and object. I is 나(na) in Korean But, even if subject is I, because of verb and object, we speak different, like 나는(na nun) and 내가(nae ga)." I felt he doesn't understand clearly, but he said that he understood. "That's interesting. This is a reason why I am studying my major." he said.

aug. 9th.

Reveca came my home at 5 p.m.She has been teaching English my children every tuesday since 3 weeks ago.After finished their study, I told her. " How about to eat dinner togather tonight. It will be a good opportunity to taste a korean food."She said " I'm so sorry, I have a meeting tonight." So I said to her " That's ok. let's make a chance the other day. Anyway, you looks very tired. "She said to me. " Yes, It was really long day. I've got lots of classes. and test, homework..."Actually, she said a lot of things. but I can't understand more than half. Because of them , I'm just said to her. " If you feel tired on tuesday, Let me know, I'll try to reschedule.""Actually, I 'm busy and tired every. But I like teaching and learning. And , Eddie is awesome today!""Thanks for you. By accident I met Johana, used to work in my cousin's store.
I was in the Farmer's Market which is the international market on Winchester.
When she saw me, she said " Hello" to me with smile.
She asked me " How my classes were going on.
I said " So far so good "
I asked her that working with American was not difficult.
Because she has just started working in the American company.
She said " Well, it was ...confusing, but I used to work and workers
are so nice".
I said " That's good".
I had to go back home in a hurry.
So I told her " I have to go home ".

Hi, I write about my weekend.

Friday;
After school, I met my friends. He is Japanese American,
so he can speak English and Japanese.
He helps us when we need something help.
And, another friends is Amercan.
We ate Mexican food and talked to midnight.
It was really fun!!

Saturday;
On Saturday evening, I went to watch the football game.
It was my first time.
My friend taught me rules, but I couldn't understand very well.
It was unlucky that Menphis Tigers lost the game.
But I was exciting and enjoyed.

Sunday;
I went to WALMART to shopping.
I bought some food and I wanted to buy a cutting board.
But I couldn't find it because the store is too big and has many things.
I asked clerk and she told me where is it.
And I could buy a cutting board.

Now I can cut vegetables, meats, and anything confortable!!!

Helloooooo!

I called Bank of America costumer service to cancel my account,
It was some lady, very friendly, she asked me, why I want to cancel the account, and I told her because, I do not work, just in saturday and I do not have money for the monthly fee, and she said ok, she asked me some question to finish the process. :)

It was a hot day.
After school, I was on the way home. I wanted to drink something cold.
I stopped by Starbucks.
As soon as I came into Starbucks, I said hello to an employee.
He said, " How are you today?"
I said, " good" with smile.
He asked " What can I get you drink?"
I said, " Can I get Iced Americano and tall size?"
He said, " All right".
While I was waiting for checking out, I felt a strange feeling.
He took out four cups to me.
He said, " Total is $ 9.00."
Actually, tall Americano price is $ 2.19.
I told him that I wanted one tall iced Americano.
He said, " sorry".
After I got cool Americano, I left there.
While I was driving my car, I thought that I really need more practice.
Fortunately Iced Americano was so good and I could appease my thirsty.

I met Scott after class in second floor of Patterson Hall. He was reading his major textbook. I asked "What kind book is this?" "A grammar book." "HA? Are you studyng Grammar? You are American." "Yeah~ I have a grammar class." "It sound likes joke haha." Then, I pick my grammar book from my backpack. "Scott! I have a grammar book either. haha" We laughed.


Thursday

I went to Delta fair in Agricenter nearby Shelby Farm with my friends. I thought my tickets make us free to go there. But, A woman in ticket booth said. "You have to pay $24"
I asked "One ticket makes two people free. Isn't it?" "No 2 for 1" "Ah! really? I missunderstood." Then, I paid and entered.

Friday

I went to BCM after class. I met Steven there again. He wanted to interview What are differences between Korea customs and American customs for his job. He asked "What gestures do you have?" I showed some Korean gestures and explain those meaning. And, He asked again. "What customs make you feel weird?" "When I talked someone, they look at my eyes It makes me weird. Actually, we don't look at someone's eye continuously like American when we are convesing." Then, we kept saying about other differences.

Sunday

I went to Bookstore on Poplar road and I ordered coffee.The casher asked me something but, I didn't hear exatly. Maybe He asked I wanted to add cream in my coffee or not. So, I requested him to say again. He repeated and asked me. "Where are you from?" "I am from South Korea" "Don't they ask this?" "They ask this one, but It is just to difficult to listen. So, I wanted to listen again." "How long had you taken on plane to here?" "Maybe 21hours" "OH! It sounds like tired~~"

In my apartment

I put my laundry into washing machine. And, I played game, so I had forgotten that fact. After about 40 minutes, I ran to the laundry room. In that place, I met a man who look likes 40 to 50 ages. He told me "It's long time to be your clothes in washing machine. " "I'm sorry. I forgot." Then, I found only one dry machine was empty, so I asked him and pointed it."Are you gonna use this one?" "No, I don't have to do." "OK." I said.

Sorry teacher! I talked with many persons the last week, but I don't remenber all the conversation... Sorry!
I called to Graceland Elvis Presly and asked about price and what days I can go... She explained all.
I talked with two security american in a club (when I was waiting for entrace) and with talked about Venezuela and Chavez.
In the University of Memphis ' gym, I always ask where is cardio room and pool, and girl american people always explain me where is the location.
The last saturday I helped in my family's clinic, and I had to answer the telephono and explain people about address and clinic' service!!

I ate lunch with Scott Monday and Tuesday.

Monday

It was long time to meet everyone. So, we ate lunch at Patterson Hall. When we were eating lunch, I asked Scott. "Scott Why do you look tired?" He answered. "I feel tired everyday." I asked again. "Why?" "I have many classes and I work at ESL." I asked again. "How many class do you choose?"
"I chose 5 classes" "Ah~ I got it." Then, We were about eating salad but we recognized to forget taking a dressing.
Because of we didn't want to move, we kept eating just salad. Finally, I mumbled "All vegetable.."
Scott said "Rabbit food" I cried like sheep "Meeee~~~~~~" We laughed.

Tuesday

We ate lunch at Tigerden. I started tallking. "I feel a little bit depressed" Scott asked me "Why?" "Maybe the problem is weather. Actually, I don't know why I feel depressed. I have felt depressed since last night. I need a special event." He asked me again. "What kind of event do you want?" I answered. "I don't know what I really want to do." We contiued talking about solution to solve depressed feeling.

One week ago, I went to Target to buy an album.
I like the album, but my wife didn't like it.
She asked me to return or exchange to something else.
So I decided to get money back.
I went to customer service center in Target.
I told a clerk " I would like to return this."
She asked me " Do you have a recipt with you?"
I showed her the recipt.
She checked the recipt and the condition of the album.
And then , she asked me " Is there a problem with this?"
I said truly. She just nodded and wanted me to fill the form of return out.

I went to the Kroger.Each goods kave a price but If i had a membership card, I could save the money.So I asked. " Can I open the membership card today?"He gave me a paper and I should th filled the blank.I've got the membership card easily and I could save $3.5.

I went to the Barnes & Novel to buy some books.I asked. " Where is the English books for foreign child?" But she couldn't understand What I asked.So I asked to again." My son is a Korean. and I want to find some books for teaching English to him."She showed me the place and I found 3 books." Where are another Barnes & Novel store in Memphis?"She told me the place of another." Is it bigger than here?" " No, It's the bigest store in Memphis."I said to thanks and came back home.

I met daugters friends parents at the Hop church.I said. " I'm very nice to meet you and I heard about you from my daughter."My daughter wanted to go to her friends house.I told them " I will pick her up at 5 P.m." After came back home, I made Japche.And I brougt it to their house at 5 P.m."Actually I'm not a good cooker. but I want to give you some korean food. It's a korean traditional nuddle named Japche. Conversation of 8/28 to 29

Actually, I hesitated to post on this blog yesterday. Because, the conversation was very informal. But, I decided to write. Because, even if convertion is informal, it helps me to give confidence and improve my conversation skill. And, I have a duty to write for homework.

At lunch break, I met Coco. She is a Chinese-American and she is my friend's girl friend. We have been very close to eachother since 2month ago. We ate lunch at Wang's mandarin house with my friends. She talked about her school life and her work. I had grown my beard, but I shaved everything. So, I wondered her opinion about my changing. I asked "Coco How about my face today?" She said "Um.. Ah! You shaved!!" I said "I disappointed... You didn't recognize my changing" she said "I have a idea about what is wrong on you. but I didn't see it. Sorry." I said "So, What is your opinion now?" She said "Well... You look like a gay... I liked your face had beard." I said "Hey! You said I don't care about guy has beard or not. You are liar~." She laughed, and teased me "But, now you are Sooooo weird~." When we left the restaurant, she opened a door and said so sweet. "Lady First~"

I went to BCM. I met a guy whose name is Steven. We talked long time. He moved Memphis from Sandiego. He said "I am very interested about Asian stuff and Korea. I had Korean friends there. Then, He asked "Do you know where is a Korean restaurant?" I answered "There are two Korean restaurant. One is nearby Wincheter but, I can't explain where it is and the other one is also I can't explain exatly. Sorry..." He said "That's OK. Um.. Are their foods good?" I answered "Well... It's little bit different than original food."
We had a sort of long conversation. We decided to add a friend on our Facebook. Then, I checked my facebook in my house after came home. Now We are friend.

Wednesday and Thursday

On Wednesday after the class, I talked with my room mate.
But it was just 15 minutes, because my room mate left our room.

And today, I talked with my another room mate.
(I live in dormitory with 3 American girls.)
I told her, where is the laundry room.

I made a smll conversation with my neighbor. My friend who lives with me and I were talking about quiting smoking in Korean. At that time, the guy's face looks like embarrassed. So, we said "We were talking about smoking." Then, the guy ask us what kinds of smoking. We answered "Cigarette" Then, he said "Yeah~ quitting smoking is difficult" I said "You're right. Whenever I tried to quit smoking, but I couldn't" After I said that, the elevator's door was opened and we arrived our floor. So, Our small conversation was over.
